Also offered in the College of Engineering (Computer Science, B.S.) and College of Creative Studies (Creative Studies: Computer Science Emphasis, B.S.). The goal of the computer science undergraduate program is to prepare future generations of computer professionals for long-term careers in research, technical development, and applications. The primary computer science departmental emphasis is on program design, analysis and implementation, with both a strong theoretical foundation and a strong practical component, covering most aspects of computing and computer communications. BS and BA computer science degrees differ in emphasis. The BA program requires more general education courses and the BS program requires additional computer science courses. Transfer students are admitted to pre-major status until all prerequisites are satisfied.
