Music A.B.

A major in music teaches you to explore and understand the history, theory and performance of music. Your professors and lecturers are active researchers and performing musicians; many have had works performed, published and recorded around the globe. Artists-in-Residence spend one quarter each year on campus, giving concerts and working closely with undergraduates. You'll also have the chance to perform with our symphony orchestra, band, chorus, gospel choir or smaller ensembles. Department facilities include an extensive collection of musical instruments dating as far back as the Renaissance, an electronic music studio and an excellent music library.
