University Majors
University of California, Berkeley
Anthropology B.A.
The anthropology major at Berkeley is designed to serve two purposes:
1. to provide a general education for students pursuing a liberal education. 2. to prepare those planning to become professional anthropologists for graduate study.
College of Letters and Science students may plan their program with considerable freedom after completing courses required for the major. Those planning on going to graduate school should construct their programs to meet graduate requirements at Berkeley or elsewhere.
