Software Engineering is the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the development, operation, and maintenance of software; that is, the application of engineering to software. Software engineers design, implement and deploy computer-based systems ranging from the very small (sensor networks, mobile devices) to the very large (cloud computing, enterprise and global server systems and networks). The discipline is highly multidisciplinary and global in scope and opportunities.
