Within this concentration, students prepare for research careers in the biomedical sciences, and for positions in biotechnology or as clinical laboratory scientists (medical technologists) in hospitals. Advanced coursework is available in food microbiology, environmental microbiology, immunology, virology, hematology, medical microbiology and biotechnology.
