Child and Adolescent Development B.A., Preparation for Teaching

This degree program is a diversified major that also includes a program of subject matter preparation for entry into a Multiple Subject (K- 8) Teaching Credential Program after graduation. The curriculum is relevant to a wide range of careers in education and it prepares students for a multiple subject credential program and for the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET). In addition to child and adolescent courses in the major, under this plan coursework is diversified to cover the five content areas typically taught in K-8 classrooms: language and literature; mathematics and science; humanities and the arts; human development and physical education; and history and the social sciences.
