University Majors
A computer scientist is trained to design, implement and analyze computer programs. Computer scientists must be able to think precisely, solve problems in a systematic manner, and work with various mathematical tools. Preparation for the computer science major includes classes in computer programming, mathematics, and laboratory science. Course work includes courses in Data Structures; Programming Languages; Computer Architecture; Social, Legal, and Ethical Issues in Computing; Systems Programming; Operating Systems; Algorithms and their Analysis; Senior Seminar; and Mathematics.
