Anthropology B.A.
The department provides training in the four main subfields of anthropology: biological anthropology, archaeology, cultural anthropology, and linguistic anthropology. The Anthropology Research and Teaching Facility at CSUF form the context in which rigorous training in these subfields occurs. The facility provides: - an organized program of study in cultural anthropology with emphasis on theory, and method in Aesthetic Anthropology, Cognitive Anthropology, Economic Anthropology, Educational Anthropology, Feminist Anthropology, Legal Anthropology, Organizational Anthropology, Political Anthropology, Psychological Anthropology, Religious Anthropology, Symbolic Anthropology, Transnational Anthropology, as well as Sociolinguistics, Ethnography of Speaking, Anthropological Linguistics, and Historical Linguistics. - an archaeology lab providing training and Geographic Information Systems as well as Cultural Resource Management; and Southwestern, Great Basin, and Mesoamerican Archaeology. - a biological lab emphasizing training in primatology, evolutionary ecology, medical anthropology, and gerontological anthropology. - a computer teaching lab emphasizing ethnographic cultural analysis, with special emphasis on the Human Relations Area Files. - a teaching museum
