The Business Administration - Accounting area program provides students with the knowledge and analytical skills essential for employment in all sectors of business and industry, as well as for managerial careers in governmental and other non-profit organizations. Opportunities for specialization are provided for students preparing for careers in accounting, financial management, marketing management, management information systems, international business management, general management, and human resources management. The primary objectives of the Accounting Area are to: 1) provide students within the Orfalea College of Business with the ability to understand and interpret accounting information that is relevant to business decisions; 2) prepare students for careers as professional accountants; and 3) provide students from other colleges within the university with an introduction to accounting and its uses.
