Ethnomusicology - Jazz Studies B.A.

Open fall term only. All applicants must have a minimum 3.0 gpa at the time of application. Directed by the world-renowned jazz musican and composer Kenny Burrell, the program includes a comprehensive curriculum with an exceptional faculty including George Bohanon, Sherman Ferguson, Roberto Miranda, Charles Owens, Tom Ranier, Bobby Rodriguez, Michele Weir, Anthony Wilson, and the legendary Gerald Wilson.
Upon graduation, students receive a B.A. degree in ethnomusicology and are prepared to enter a diverse range of activities, including careers or graduate study in jazz performance, composition, arranging, research, and teaching.
The presence of jazz studies within the ethnomusicology department facilitates exploration of the significant link between jazz and music traditions from around the world.
