The general emphasis enables students to develop a broader perspective of sociology by providing three sequenced levels of education in Sociology: 1) Introduction to the discipline, its central issues, and ways of thinking. 2) Learning of basic sociological skills and concepts and achievement of breadth of knowledge in substantive subfields of sociology. 3) Concentration in subfield to attain depth of knowledge and analytic skills.
