The Asian American Studies major provides comparative, relational , and multidisciplinary understandings of the diversity and complexity of Asian American populations. The curriculum critically analyzes historical and contemporary formations of race, ethnicity, class, gender, and sexuality in local and global contexts. In fostering critical thinking skills, students learn to develop their own informed understandings of social inequalities and power relations in U.S. society to become socially aware and engaged citizens in a diverse multicultural, globalized society.
