The major provides interdisciplinary preparation for students who plan careers within formal organizations (corporations, nonprofits, government agencies). The major requirements provide basic organizational knowledge and skills, and the minor degree allows students to develop competence in a content area.  Many jobs and careers are not associated with particular undergraduate majors, and this major degree specifically addresses the integrative learning that underlies many careers within organizations.
