Music B.A. with Music Industry Studies Emphasis
The Music Department offers coursework leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree. Three main career paths - music education, music industry studies, and music performance - are available through the department''''s five emphasis areas. The Department presents and represents the complex tapestry of contemporary American musical life, showing a balanced view of the musical contributions of both genders and the various nationalities and ethnicities of the state`s population.
The Music Industry Studies (MIS) program at Cal Poly Pomona currently comprises the majority of the Music department`s undergraduate majors. The program`s wide-ranging and comprehensive curriculum provides students with a solid foundation in music theory, history, ensemble performance, production, recording technology, and business?as well as a well-rounded university education.

In preparation for careers in music, all MIS students complete internships throughout the music industry at organizations such as ASCAP, Inter-scope Records, Sony Music Publishing, Warner Bros Records, Capitol Recording Studios, Universal Mastering, The Roxy, Night-bird Studios, Universal Music Distribution, and many others.
